The Wordless Green Parasol Tree

In ancient times, there was the Book of Primordial Beginnings, encompassing all the laws of heaven and earth, the sun and moon, the stars, birth and death. Ten thousand years ago, the Heavenly Dao shattered. The book broke into countless fragments, which became Dao characters scattered across the world. From then on, there was only one path of cultivation: Recognize Dao characters, nurture Dao characters, wield Dao characters. Each character grants a divine ability: Recognize “Thunder” and you can summon lightning from the heavens. Recognize “Water” and you can flood rivers. Recognize “Life” and you can bring white bones back to life. But the Heavenly Dao has a merciless law of balance: Every Dao character carries the weight of the Heavenly Dao. The more characters a cultivator recognizes, and the more powerful they are, the more their body and soul are assimilated by those characters. The day a cultivator reaches the pinnacle of their cultivation is the day they become a carving on a blue stone, frozen for all eternity. Throughout history, every great cultivator has ultimately become an immobile carved deity at the mountain gate. Everyone knows: cultivating the Dao is a road that ends in certain death.
