The Delusion Realm Returns to Nothingness

The entire cultivation world is a false cage woven from the obsessions of all living beings. The spiritual energy everyone cultivates is nothing but illusory dregs. The path to immortality they pursue is a lifelong shackle. The Great Dao they climb toward is merely a trick by the Heavenly Dao to keep all living things in captivity. Countless cultivators work themselves to the bone to prove the Dao, believing they are defying Heaven to achieve eternal life. In truth, they are bound in layer upon layer of chains, reduced to puppets of a false order. Only the protagonist, Wang Jiba, was born without a spiritual root. He absorbs no delusive power and is not recorded by the world’s rules. In everyone else’s eyes, he is a once-in-ten-thousand-years waste of a body, a slacker who has given up, a joke of a cultivator. In reality, he is the only truth in this illusory world of delusion, the one and only flaw in the world. He doesn’t grind for cultivation, chase fortuitous encounters, or believe in the Heavenly Dao. He spends his days slacking off and goofing around, cracking jokes and seeing through every trick. All living beings take obsession as their Dao, sinking in misery for ten thousand years. Only he takes emptiness as truth, roaming free as he shatters every illusion. When the entire world, the immortals and sages of the heavens, and the rules of ages past all join forces to hunt down this “unreasonable” mortal the slacker youth slowly spreads his hands. “Sorry, you’re all real. I’m the only one who’s real. You’re all delusions. I return to zero.” And so begins the Dao of Returning to Nothing, a path that overturns every cultivation convention and tears apart the falsehoods of ages past.
