The Long Song of Karma: I Weave a Heavenly Net with Karma

At the beginning of heaven and earth, cause and effect formed a web. All living things are caught within it.

Lu Changge was born with the Eye of Cause and Effect. He can see the threads connecting all living beings and calculate the date of his own death. When his family was wiped out at age ten, his father used a thread of cause and effect to get him out of the fire. From then on, he became a "hole" in this world: lamps could not illuminate him, threads could not find him, and even the heavenly net sent to hunt him had to use bait to track him down.

Breaking causes strengthens the body; forming causes binds one in chains. Along the way, he breaks and forms them in turn: breaking ties of hatred, forming bonds of gratitude. When he weaves his first net, he discovers that the person sitting at the other end is the one who claimed his mother's karmic ties all those years ago.

The mender of the net is doomed to eternal ruin. In this generation, he wants to change the ending.

Every thread of cause and effect he sees is a path; every step he takes rewrites someone else's fate.
