After Hunting Demons for Hundreds of Years, the Gods Want Me to Be a Heroic Spirit?

Traveling through a world where strange monsters are rampant, Darien works as an inspector at a border inspection station, intercepting all strange monsters trying to enter the Holy City. This is the worst of times, with evil and terrifying monsters, carefully disguised, mysterious and treacherous, trying their best to enter the holy city. This is the best of times, with esotericism rampant, knowledge supreme, mysticism, and demon hunters able to carve monuments one after another and glimpse gods. Darien discovered that there was a shocking conspiracy hidden around him, and whispers were raging behind the curtain. The order of people's hearts is on the verge of collapse, and the class-fixed church hides a huge conspiracy. "The world is too dangerous, so I feel most comfortable hiding in the inspection center." [You successfully identified and defeated the skinned puppet and received a blessing] [You successfully assembled a dream of the source material and received a blessing] [You successfully dissected the hellworm and received a blessing] … As the years have passed, Darian, the staunchest shield in the Holy City, has protected the empire for hundreds of years and has become an undefeated legend. Just when everyone thought he was dying as a hero, the Temple of Heaven was opened for Darien, and the empire was enveloped in holy light that day. "The goddess heard that Darien stuck to his heart in troubled times and killed millions of monsters. He was respected as the strongest shield of mankind and received the highest honor of a demon hunter. Now that time has passed, she specially invited Darien to go to the temple, shed his body, and keep his soul as a heroic spirit. He will live forever and bless the world." Huh? Heroic spirit? "Where did this strange devil dare to pretend to be a temple and get past my Maginot Line of Defense?"
