Toward the Fireworks, Into the Fog

From spring to fall, from sending out his first resume in March to the approach of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Li Jiang, a graduate of a second-tier university, rises and falls again and again in the job market. Interviews, trial periods, resignations, and journeys to faraway cities: hope gives way to disappointment and dead ends. He is fortunate to have help from his friend Tianjie, comfort from the kindness of the youth hostel owner and his family, and a relationship with his lover Xiaowen strained by differences in their outlooks. As campus life draws to a close and the challenges of reality come one after another, Li Jiang has no steady job and is on the verge of losing his home. The answer sheet for his life has only just begun to fill.
