Rebuilding the Apocalypse, Starting with Trash Picking

Two days before the apocalypse arrives, everyone receives a warning text.

Some stock up on supplies, some flee, and some dismiss it as a silly prank.

Ye Yao, who quit her job and returned home to open a cafeteria, belongs to the last group.

So on the day the apocalypse arrives, she sleeps right through the beginner quest issued by the survival System.

When she opens her eyes, the quest countdown on the System panel has already hit zero.

No execution, no punishment, and no lightning from the sky.

Ye Yao is lying in bed, alive and well.

That is, if you ignore the water, power, and heating outages, the blizzard at minus sixty degrees, and the four-meter-tall monster in the hallway tearing apart her security door.

Question: Can we roll back this survival game?

When she gets no response, Ye Yao expresses her disappointment and decides to take on this wretched world with a cleaver.

Using her extensive kitchen experience chopping bones and her knowledge of the terrain, Ye Yao narrowly defeats the Snow Walker.

Before she can catch her breath, a System notification suddenly rings in her ears.

[Player detected completing a special event independently without awakening a talent.]

[Hidden quest: Defend the apartment building, complete.]

[Congratulations, you have received a special reward: Half a can of magical expanding foam.]

Ye Yao: "?"

So you can play it like this?

And so she ventures farther and farther down the broad, easy road of collecting junk from the System.
