Tides Across Ten Thousand Miles: Seeking Immortality on the Great Voyage

Mortal Cultivation | Great Voyage | Ensemble Cast | Single Female Lead

While others carve out cave abodes in the mountains, they sail the seas in pursuit of spiritual tides.

In these waters, spiritual veins migrate, sea herbs grow with the tides, and even sunken ancient cities sometimes rise again.

A new sea route might lead to a chance to establish a foundation, or it might become the grave of everyone aboard.

Seventeen-year-old Xu Zhao is merely a shipwright's apprentice in Baisha Harbor.

If he stays at the shipyard, he must wait for the foreman's approval before he can learn the next cultivation technique. If he wants to cultivate on an island, he cannot afford the rent for a spiritual site.

Then, while dismantling a ship, he finds an old bronze compass.

From the tide marks left on the rotting timbers, he discovers a forgotten sea route. Someone once sailed it successfully, but there is no guarantee anyone could survive the journey back now.

Xu Zhao decides to find out.

Taking the old tools his father gave him, he boards a repeatedly repaired ship with several cultivators, each pursuing their own goals.

They have seen giant whales bearing entire markets on their backs, dived into sunken cities where the lights still burn, and drawn their swords over a few sprigs of sea herbs. Amid storms that batter the ship, they have guarded a single lamp to guide them home.

The people aboard gradually grow familiar with one another.

One teaches him to steer, another shares wine with him, and someone who complains that he is too reckless still adds one escape route after another to his sea chart.

From a few sprigs of sea herbs, to a shipload of cultivation resources, and finally to a sea-borne cave abode capable of crossing the open ocean.

Xu Zhao wants to travel farther.

He will seek immortality upon the sea, and return to the shore where someone is waiting for him, bringing the spirit stones he earned and the words he never got to say.
