Seven months after my death, I worked the night shift at the God and Demon Pawn Shop. During the day, they entertain gods and demons at night, pawning memories, life spans, and emotions. Until that day, I turned to the bottom of the ledger - a yellowed pawn ticket with my name written on it. Pawn: human soul. Current period: one thousand years. Expiration date: three days from now. And I seem to have died a long time ago.
