A million celestial soldiers poured out of the Eastern Heavenly Court, the Three Pure Ones held the line, and the Great Sage fought in a bloody battle. The firmament crumbled, and blood stained the sky.

With defeat all but certain, a pillar of blue-gold light pierced the blood-red rift, carrying what little hope remained as it plunged into the river of time.
