Reborn in 1992: Starting with a Sewing Machine

In the second lunar month of 1992, in the main room of the Wang family home, Wang Jianguo brings his fiancée over and forces Lin Xiulan to sell the Butterfly-brand sewing machine from her dowry to raise the bride price. Wang Jianmei steals the fifty cents Xiaoyan has saved over half a year, spends it on face cream, and humiliates her in front of everyone. Wang Jianjun grabs the money the family set aside to buy fertilizer and shoves Xiaoyan so hard that her forehead hits the threshold and starts bleeding. Lin Xiulan opens her eyes, and the icy moment of her death in her previous life merges with the glaring scene before her. She erupts, grabs the door bar, and chases after her three children, beating them from the main room into the courtyard until they howl for their parents. The whole village gathers to watch the spectacle.
