What's the Point of Being a Demon King If You're Broke?

“My lord, please think this through... Summoning a human hero in demon territory is forbidden! If the others find out, the other seven Demon Kings will join forces to kill you!” Su Che kept a blank expression, though in his mind he was recalling the crafty faces of those Demon Kings around the card table. A wave of resentment welled up inside him. He had thought that transmigrating as a Demon King meant he’d be at the top of the world, but instead his money had all been swindled away, his magic sold off to pay his debts, and even his territory was his in name only! Thinking of that, he steeled his resolve. “Summon one! We have to summon one! And the stronger, the better!” “Um... but all you have as a vessel is a skeleton...” High-grade races cost too much... He’d worry about that later! “I know. Just do your job.” “Yes, my lord. The summoning materials cost... The skeleton costs... And there’s the construction crew... The building maintenance...” “Stop! Don’t say another word!” Su Che looked up to stop him, feeling the veins in his forehead throb. “Just tell me how much more debt I’ve taken on!”
