The truth of a battle on a mountaintop in ages past has faded into oblivion. He studied for the imperial examinations, rose through the ranks, and earned third place in the palace exam in the capital. He then joined the Court of Judicial Review, where he investigated and judged bizarre murder cases. The household's chickens, dogs, and even tiny mice were enlightened by the tower's power and helped him uncover sinister mysteries. As strife erupted at court and the demon clans of the southern frontier stirred, he wielded the law to suppress evil. Gradually, he discovered that he and the ancient tower had long been caught up in a secret plot spanning the ancient past.
