Medical America: My Stepsister Agnodice

Yang Yao has a very beautiful stepsister, as lovely as Snow White, like an elf from a fairy tale. But she is intellectually disabled. Stepmother: “Are you willing to look after her for the rest of your life? If you are, I’ll transfer 49% of the shares in this very profitable clinic to you. The other 51% will belong to your stepsister. She won’t be involved in running it, so the clinic will be yours to manage.” Yang Yao was reluctant, but his stepmother had treated him too well. It wasn’t just the clinic shares: she had helped him immigrate, find a school, and paid his tuition and living expenses for more than ten years. Yang Yao had thought about repaying her kindness, but not in this way. Still, he agreed. Then something extraordinary happened. Ever since he began living with his stepsister, he entered a dream world every night where it was impossible to tell fantasy from reality. There, he saw Anne, disguised as a man and studying medicine under a master in Alexandria. She was Agnodice, who had crossed the sea from far-off Athens.
