Why Aren't You Practicing Martial Arts? Why Do You Keep Watching Me Draw?

For five hundred years, the Great Yan Empire stood strong. Then a black dragon calamity descended upon the world.

"Report! The entire Jiangnan Circuit has been flooded, and its governor has died defending the nation!"

"Report! The three grand retainers joined forces to set the Dragon-Binding Heaven-Locking Array. It trapped the dragon for only a moment before he broke through!"

"Report! The Sword Venerable of the Eastern Sea fought the dragon for several hours and was defeated. He has fled, gravely wounded!"

In the Golden Throne Hall, half the court officials had already fallen, and not a single general remained.

"Could it be that my Great Yan... is to fall today?"

The emperor of Great Yan, his face pale as gold leaf, coughed up blood and muttered to himself.

At the foot of the city wall, Lin Zhao was trading a crumpled sheet of drawing paper for the candied hawthorn skewer in a runny-nosed child's hand.

He glanced at the dragon's shadow blotting out the sky, then gently tapped the child on the forehead.

"You. Go kill it."

"Me?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the drawing paper in the child's hand shone with golden light. Countless magical treasures flew out and covered him from head to toe.

Flames shot into the sky. The seven-year-old rode his Wind-Fire Wheels, tore through the black clouds, and pierced the dragon's head with a single spear thrust. Blood rained across the heavens.

People devote their lives to arduous cultivation, all hoping to become the greatest experts under heaven.

But when those experts meet Lin Zhao, every one of them respectfully addresses him as Master Painting Sage.
