He is Lu Yan, a Ph. D. From the Department of History of Peking University. He is 28 years old. He specializes in economic history and pastoral archeology of the Tang Dynasty. He followed his instructor to excavate a late Tang village site in Hongnong County, Guozhou. It was already overcast that afternoon, and they were cleaning out a grain cellar from the Tang Dynasty. They had just removed the carbonized millet and a few ceramic farm tools from half the cellar when a heavy rain suddenly poured down on them. The cellar wall was already soaked soft by the rain.
