The Shadow Beyond the Pupil: Frames of Time

Wuyu Island is connected to the mainland by a cross-sea bridge.

Fifteen years ago, someone died on the island. The case was quickly closed, and the verdict said it was an accident. But was that really the truth?

While clearing out the warehouse at the end of the year, someone found an old hard drive in the scrap pile. It was labeled only with an equipment number. When they powered it up, the footage was so grainy it made your eyes ache, and it didn’t match their memories of fifteen years ago.

Trouble has started again on the island, just like in an old fishermen’s song.

The person repairing the surveillance system powered up the drive and went through the footage frame by frame.

The person investigating the accounts returned to the island with their dying mother’s words ringing in their ears: “Stop thinking about what happened.”

What they could see was every frame of the surveillance footage. What they couldn’t see were the secrets hidden between the frames.

As the truth is pieced together, frame by frame, who is the person beyond the camera’s view?
