In the Lingxu Continent, everyone can awaken their soul body and travel across the mountains and rivers with the power of the soul body. Huo Yanci, an orphan from an aristocratic family, accidentally awakens the extremely rare twin souls of water and fire, and is therefore involved in the huge whirlpool of ancient divine calamity. The ancient gods have not been completely destroyed, and the remaining souls are lurking in the world, using the souls of ordinary people as nourishment, in an attempt to return to the world. Huo Yanci travels with Su Lingxi, the last descendant of the Spirit Clan, to decipher the ancient secrets of the soul body and gather colleagues from all walks of life. While the people of the world still fear the gods, they have to embark on a path of killing gods, using their mortal souls to fight against the aloof old gods.
