Avenger or Perjurer

This is a typical short story in the style of psychological suspense + revenge thriller. The core revolves around the novelist Chen Xin who lost all his money due to gambling and reunited with his old love Zhou Qian at the bottom of his life. However, a debt collection call exposed his past and he was forced to sell his kidney to pay off the debt. When he returned, he saw that Zhou Qian was married. The sudden onset of schizophrenia made him the "murderer" who killed Zhou Qian after a walk in the fields - although he insisted that it was an unconscious behavior during the illness. He was found not guilty on the basis of a psychiatric evaluation. But another victim of the tragedy - Zhou Qian's current husband, retired athlete Lee Sweet - could not accept that the killer was free. He carefully designed a "revenge", imprisoning Chen Xin in a dark secret room, using a wall-breaking machine filled with filth, iron rods and glass fragments, forcing him to "atone" through double physical and psychological torture. However, as Chen Xin struggled to survive again and again, cracks in the truth gradually emerged: behind that "accidental murder", there might be a more cold-blooded conspiracy...
