The Dead Are Still Online

Cheng Shu, a digital heritage restorer, specializes in organizing mobile phones, chat records and cloud memories for the deceased. During an ordinary commission, he repaired the mobile phone of an engineer who had been dead for seven days. The next second, the screen lights up. The deceased sent a message: "Don't give them my memories." The police could not find the sending device, but three "dead people" with the same memory appeared in the system, but identified each other as fakes. As the investigation deepens, Cheng Shu discovers that some people are using the data of the deceased to create digital personalities that can think, fear and lie; some people are quietly modifying the memory of the entire city; and some people who have died long ago are coming back as living people.
