The Black-Robed Chancellor of the Red Chamber

That’s right! Just as you suspect, I’m going to rebel! I’ll urge Prince Beijing to save the nation from disaster and purge the emperor’s court!

In Xuanzhen Abbey, a young Taoist named Yao Le, who had long served Jia Jing, makes a solemn vow, hoping the world will descend into chaos.

…

At Qin Keqing’s funeral (she was faking her death), Yao Le meets Prince Beijng. Perhaps it is fate, or perhaps it is simply human nature, but the mandarin-duck incense beads meant for Jia Baoyu end up in Yao Le’s hands.

…

After Jia Jing dies, Xuanzhen Abbey collapses too, leaving Yao Le with nowhere to go. He has no choice but to head to Prince Beijing’s residence.

“Sir, what brings you to see me?”

“To repay a kindness, and also to give Your Highness something!”

“A kindness?! What is it?”

“Your Highness gave me the mandarin-duck incense beads back then. Wasn’t that for this very day? That is why I have come, and I’ve brought a white hat with me! Will Your Highness accept it?”

“You’re a madman!”

“Heh.” Yao Le nods calmly. “I am a madman, but haven’t you been lying low all these years, waiting for the day you can soar to the heavens?”

…

“As for the two stone lions at the entrance to the Ningguo Mansion, they’re still in decent shape. We’ll keep them to guard the residence. As for the Rongguo Mansion, well, I’m the Duke of Rong. I’ll just tear it down and build a new one!”
