There Is a Road Under the Sea

Human beings no longer flee to the sky, but to the bottom of the sea. There are no roads on the ground, but there are roads under the sea. Three hundred years after the sinking of the old world, only one small island and the Tower of Babel are left in the world. The tower maintains order with a red clock, low tide window, travel list and talent test. The residents at the bottom believe that the tower holds the answer to survival. Nineteen-year-old islander Shen Zhou has been searching for the truth behind his mother being taken away on a "far trip". After a low tide, she dug out an old world nameplate near the wave barrier and unexpectedly received memories that were not her own. She thought she had found the clues left by her mother, but gradually discovered that: the tower was built on a tidal regulation system of the old world that was still running; the so-called long journey was removing people who could not be classified by the system; and she herself was not an error missed by the system, but the seventh "terminal" left by the old world. Shenzhou went all the way down, passing through the old lighthouse road, the pipe network at the bottom of the tower, Guixu City and the abyss launch pad. She did not shut down the old system, nor did she obey the old system. Instead, she stood in front of the kill button and returned the choice to all living people. 1.
