I Was Once a Vessel of God

God chose me to be a vessel, but I chose to be a human being. This book is a trilogy. The first part is about locking the door, the second part is about reading the letter, and the third part is about setting off. Three teacups were already on the counter. I was a vessel for God. Tens of thousands of years after the death of the old gods, humans implanted fragments of the gods' remains into their bodies to gain power. I am the perfect vessel - the key left behind by the old gods. You can open the sealing wall to resurrect the old gods, or you can seal all the hearts with your own hands to completely disappear the divine power from this world. I chose the latter. Every time a heart is sealed, the corresponding divine skeleton in the body loses its divine power, and the body suffers irreversible damage. The last seal was completed and I returned to the surface from the center of the earth. "The pieces are gone. Ordinary people." Years later, someone placed three teacups on the teahouse counter. The oldest cup has "candle" engraved on the bottom, and the newest cup has a circle engraved on the bottom, but there is no word inside the circle. Builders older than the Old Gods encoded a letter into the mycelial mats of the Far North ruins during their retreat. The hyphal mats respire slowly in a cycle of about twenty hours. One day, tens of thousands of years later, breathing began to quicken. The letter is waiting for the recipient. The recipient has just written the first line of observations in the register. After becoming a god, the story just begins.
