Thousands of years ago, the Ember Walker burned his spiritual roots and suppressed the evil god Fu Ri in the Ember Abyss. Thousands of years later, Kyushu called them "monkeys". The orphan Sha Jin was parasitized by a bone fragment with memory, and he was forced to return home - the bone fragment's home, under the abyss of Ash that sealed the rotting sun. He does not save the world or die as a martyr, he just wants to carve out an inch of his own choice in the fate of being "chosen".
