Life After Middle-Age Unemployment

At forty-two, Chen Jianping was a planning director at an advertising company in Rongcheng, caught in the throes of a midlife crisis.

His father was bedridden, his daughter was preparing for the college entrance exam, his wife earned very little, and a monthly mortgage payment of thirty thousand left him gasping for breath.

At work, a director born in the 1990s pushed him aside. His project was taken from him, his authority crumbled, and his livelihood was on the verge of collapse.

He refused to bow to reality, quit his job, and started a studio, beginning with small clients in the urban villages.

He taught himself new media, created the viral short video series “Memories of Rongcheng,” and made a comeback by winning an entrepreneurship competition.

He stood firm in the face of tempting offers from investors, and held on to his original ideals even through his darkest hours.

In the end, he completed the digital transformation, led his team to success, and broke through both professionally and spiritually.

This is a true-to-life portrait of an ordinary middle-aged man struggling, awakening, and being reborn amid the tides of his era.
