I Went to See Her Chinese Painting Exhibition

The sound of partridges, I met her in the mountains that spring. Later she laughed and said she wanted to leave me and learn to be a human being again. I cleaned up the aftermath for her and swore when she turned around: If you dare to leave, I will forget you. I deliberately avoided anything related to her. Many years later, the art museum held a Chinese painting exhibition, and I stood in front of a painting for a long time. Someone behind me asked me if I liked it. I turned around and saw her standing in the light washed by the spring rain, with big wavy hair, white skin and dark eyes. I recognized her, I always remembered her. The sound of partridges seemed to be heard again—the cry that always heralds parting. But another voice suddenly sounded in my heart. "You hit me," I said. She froze, then laughed.
