If Mystery and The Riddler are what you consider your writing style and insist on writing like this, my suggestion is that when you want to do this, try to objectively describe the realistic picture of what is happening, and write less subjective psychological description. Objective description is about the people and things in the plot, while the target of psychological description is the reader, and the psychological description of the reader must be honest (in the case of non-narrative tricks). Psychological description is often a way of writing that seeks interaction with readers. Pretending to be pretentious and pretentious here will offend readers. Readers just want to see your protagonist pretending to be pretentious in the plot, but do not want to see the protagonist pretending to be pretentious to the reader.
