Latecomer Convention

After humans entered the interstellar age, distance has become the hardest part of all relationships. An accident handling protocol was born near Jupiter's moons. Initially, it only taught people how to send rescue instructions that did not require confirmation and could be executed independently under long communication delays. Hundreds of years later, this code was carried to other stars by voyagers; thousands of years later, it was rewritten into an ethical agreement to help strange settlements; tens of thousands of years later, no one knew who wrote the first version, and it was impossible to determine whether they still belonged to the same kind of "human beings". They are still receiving old messages and still sending out new responses. Some answers saved people in time, some only preserved knowledge, and some arrived when the recipients had already disappeared, but later saved completely unrelated strangers. Each answer is accompanied by raw sky data proving time and location. No one expected that these calibration attachments scattered in different eras and star systems would eventually form a cosmic manuscript that spans tens of thousands of years.
