Scientific Records of the Prince of Qi's Estate

On the very first day brilliant scientist Su Nian transmigrated into the body of the Prince of Qi's primary consort in the Great Qi dynasty, a letter of divorce was slapped down on the table. Her husband's family looked down on her humble origins and planned to send her to a convent. Su Nian glanced at the three mu of wasteland in the back courtyard: plenty of sunlight, far from the main residence, and no one to disturb her. Wasn't that a ready-made laboratory? She tore up the divorce papers instead. Three months later, the consort's “little cosmetics workshop” was producing sulfuric acid of astonishing purity and, as a side benefit, had solved the residence's drinking-water purification problem. Six months later, her lab had built the Great Qi dynasty's first steam-engine prototype, and the Minister of Works next door was climbing the wall to sit in on her lessons every few days. By the time the Prince of Qi finally remembered he had a primary consort, he found that the security around her laboratory was tighter than around his study. “Want to come in?” Su Nian twirled a test tube in her hand. “Sign the informed consent form first.”
