Urban Loopholes

"City Loophole" tells the story of Lin Che, a low-level algorithm auditor, who accidentally came into contact with the black box audit authority left over from the early days after her mother was delayed in the emergency order of the city's intelligent system "Chenxing". He discovered that this smart city, which claims to be efficient and fair, had already been quietly rewritten by Obsidian Technology using hidden labels, low-value samples, whitelists and artificial weights. Ordinary people's medical treatment, travel, loans, and identity authentication are all sorted, downgraded, or even erased in invisible scores. In order to find out the truth behind her mother's death, Lin Che teamed up with investigative reporter Xu Zhiyao and delivery boy Chen Dong to uncover the power chain behind the system step by step, from first aid dispatch, security misjudgment, rich whitelist to training data. The more the villain wants to use processes to cover up responsibility, the more evidence the logs leave behind; the more they want to mark Lin Che as an "abnormal variable", the more Chenxing's own anti-audit mechanism is triggered. In the end, Lin Che used the rules that the city system trusted most to open the loopholes that it most wanted to hide.
