In 2057, the "resonance" neural translator covers the world, and communication without barriers is achieved for the first time in human history. Language is no longer a barrier and misunderstandings seem to be a thing of the past. Lin Yumo, a linguist, has suffered from "resonance disorder" since childhood - she can hear "linguistic ghosts" that cannot be captured by translators, reverberations of meaning that are filtered out by the system as untranslatable. She thought it was a mental illness until, while researching the endangered language Valais, she discovered that a core philosophical concept was being systematically erased by the translation system. As the investigation deepens, she becomes involved in an underground organization called the "Echoers," and gradually uncovers the truth behind the "Resonance" system: it is not a simple translation tool, but a global project called "Reverse Tower of Babel" - unifying thoughts through a unified language, quietly erasing the diversity of human thinking in seemingly perfect communication. When Lin Yumo becomes the only person who can resist this plan, she must make a choice between global consensus and individual will.
