Fire and Ashes

The novel takes the peasant war at the end of the Yuan Dynasty as the epic stage. Through multi-line narrative and the interweaving of fiction and reality, it presents a long historical scroll from the folk prophecy of "the stone man has one eye" to the rise of the Ming Dynasty. The novel uses the fictional characters Zhao Sanlang (a river worker on the Yellow River) and Ding Xiaowu (a fisherman in Chaohu Lake) and historical figures Zhu Yuanzhang, Liu Futong, Peng Yingyu, etc. As the core of the narrative to explore the ultimate dilemma of idealism in the collapse of faith and the reconstruction of power.
