Asriel: Gears of Night

Thousands of years ago, the gods fell due to the struggle for the core of the source material, the "Eternal Heart", and the divine blood turned into seven forbidden magic elements, polluting the continent of Asriel. Today, humans, elves, dwarves, orcs and other races have established a new order on the ruins, but the "Curse of the Gods" follows closely, and the use of magic comes with the risk of losing sanity. The world is ruled by the "Silver Council", which monopolizes safe magical knowledge, while the bottom is filled with black markets, underground churches, and "scavengers" who make a living by hunting monsters. The protagonist, Lynn Valentine, is a "mute" (born unable to perceive magic) who grew up in a slum, but accidentally inherited a mysterious pocket watch left by his father. This pocket watch can not only pause time for three seconds, but also absorb the "God's Fall Curse" and transform it into pure source. His existence broke the monopoly of the Silver Council and also attracted the pursuit of the "Scarlet Order" who worshiped the ancient gods. The main line of the story revolves around Linn's search for the truth about his father's disappearance, uncovering the secret of the "Eternal Heart", and resisting the tyranny of the Silver Council.
