Echoes of the Sand Sea

When I was a sophomore in high school, I participated in the popular science and science fiction essay contest in Jiangsu Province on the recommendation of my teacher. The inspiration for this novel came from the essay "Until the End of Time" I submitted in the preliminary contest. The article at that time only had a few thousand words, but it also gave some basic settings, such as the mechanism of food conversion, the background of the apocalypse, the protagonist Chen Xi and his robot B-2, about confession, about value... Now, when I think back to my original thoughts, they are already very vague. But if you look back carefully, the so-called "inspiration" for writing this mini-novel at that time is actually very nonsense. I just remember rewatching Nolan's movie "Interstellar" at the time, and I thought the robots in it were very interesting - they actually have no emotions, but in the flow of the plot, they can make the audience empathize and respect them. So, I wanted to write a story with a robot. The robot in my story has the shadow of this work to a certain extent. But the robot is only one part of my setting, and the rest of the background setting has no source of inspiration at all. This is also the first time that I feel more clearly that analyzing my past self is actually more difficult than analyzing a piece of work written by someone else. Those wild ideas in childhood are as irregular as the maple leaves blown by the wind - but then again, why bother to pursue the trajectory of the maple leaves when they dance? It's enough for them to just move people.
