Forbidden Person

Xu Si'an has always felt that the world is like a set of programs that run stably. Most people live within established rules, and occasional abnormalities can always be explained away as coincidences, hallucinations, pressure, or hearsay. A pair of red shoes whose owner cannot be found. An alley that doesn't exist on the map. A person who died outside but could never return to the village. An old temple weighed down by local gods and taboos. These anomalies are not always harmful and rarely manifest themselves. They just appear again and again in dreams, videos, missing pages in files, and moments when the old man is suddenly silent, as if waiting for someone to continue asking. Xu Si'an gradually understood that what is truly terrifying is not taboos. But someone died and no one testified. Some people saw it but didn't dare to speak. Some people are written behind rumors, taboos and idols, and almost never return to reality. Ghosts are the shapes left behind by truths that cannot be proven. And seeing is never a gift.
