The King's Avatar: A Sucker Repeats the Same Mistake

Shi Xingchuan had always felt that his Glory career made him a complete sucker. He thought some friends had called him over to help settle a personal grudge, only to find that the grudge involved Fallen Petals and Flower Chaos. He thought he was about to make another sworn enemy in the game, only to be invited to start a team with them. He thought he'd just be a bit player in the pro scene, only for his team to take second place in their second year. He thought he'd finally fallen in love with esports and decided to give it everything alongside his teammates, only for Sun Zheping to retire with a hand injury. He thought third time's the charm and they'd finally win the championship, but they came second again. At the start of Season Eight, the retired former co-captains of Team Hundred Blossoms met up for a chat. Shi Xingchuan lit a cigarette for the first time in ages and watched it smolder, glowing and fading. He let out a long sigh. “I think I hate Glory a little.”
