This era is known as the "Great Silence". Kane Elon is a conservator on Old Earth who is restoring a dangerous contraband: a 5,000-year-old physical book. On the page, he found an ancient handwriting - "I hope you ask questions first, and then believe." This sentence was like a virus, activating a rare "metacognitive allergy" in his body - an ability to sense the logical cracks behind "metaphysical" answers. He was marked by the system as a "potential questioner" and was forced to embark on the road to escape. Kane soon discovered that the book was not alone.
