Stray Dog: the Nameless Beast

It was born in the ruins after the floods of the Onan River receded. His father is the wolf king in the forests of Kent, and his mother is a Mongolian mastiff who guards the gates of the Onon River. It is half of the blood of wolves and half of the loyalty of dogs; it is neither accepted by the wolves nor recognized by the dogs. The mother fell beside the ruins, and the father returned across the river and then left. It didn't have a name yet, and it had become an orphan on the grassland. The old man said that it is life first. The child said, "The dogs don't recognize you, but I recognize you." But the world will not become gentle because of a word of mercy. Stone and bread, fire and cold wind, milk skin and hunger, collar and distance, all shape its destiny bit by bit. It thought that as long as it survived, it would be able to find a home; later it realized that real wandering is not about not having a home, but about losing its soul in an era. From the Onon River to the Tula River, from the ruins of the steppe to the lights of Ulaanbaatar, it will pass through the cracks between wolves and dogs, humans and beasts, old steppes and modern cities. It will have a human face, and it will also see the deeper wilderness of the human world. This is the wandering history of a half-wolf, half-dog, and a desolate fable about home, blood, loyalty and a lost era.
