Rust Restorer

The story takes place in a near-future city after the "Great Silence" incident. Thirty years ago, the global electronic network collapsed and was replaced by "mechanical spirit" technology that combined mechanical and spiritual energy. Human beings have discovered that there are certain fragments of consciousness embedded in old-era machinery, which can give the machines special properties. The social structure is rebuilt around the "Restorer Guild". Restorers are not only technicians, but also people with special powers who can communicate with machine spirits. The city is divided into upper-level "clean areas" and lower-level "rust areas", with extremely uneven distribution of resources. The clean zone monopolizes high-end mechanical technology, while the rust zone is filled with abandoned machinery and black market transactions. The protagonist is on the edge of the Rust Realm, where there is a mixture of good and bad, including low-level technicians who are eager to make a comeback, and guild spies who are secretly observing. The worldview emphasizes the realism of technical details and the oppression of solidified classes. The team system similar to that of the e-sports circle is replaced by the restoration agency and guild rating system, emphasizing the combination of teamwork and personal skills. The core power system is "Mechanical Spirit Resonance". The restorer uses mental power to connect the fragments of consciousness inside the machine to repair or strengthen it. The resonance level is divided into three levels: "auscultation", "dialogue" and "fusion". The special setting lies in the "cost conservation": each deep resonance consumes the restorer's specific senses or memory fragments. The protagonist possesses the rare "absolute frequency response" ability and can hear the smallest malfunction frequency of machinery, but each use will cause short-term amnesia or loss of taste. This irreversible cost limits the abuse of Goldfinger, forcing the protagonist to use his abilities at critical moments, increasing the tension of combat and repair.
