In the Chinese cities of 2035, there are no mechas flying all over the sky or exaggerated prosthetic transformations, but all the people are digitally bound: Everyone's identity, credit information, income, travel, emotions, and health are all connected to the "city global neural network." Ordinary people's lives, jobs, promotions, loans, and even social reputation are all scored, controlled, and manipulated by big data algorithms. Enterprises, consortiums, and urban management bureaus rely on this digital network to control the city's resources. Human beings are slowly becoming "networked data components." The more we rely on the Internet, smart devices, and digital prosthetics, the easier it is to be manipulated, harvested, and convicted by algorithms.
