Niannujiao

This is a semi-documentary novella "Niannujiao" that I wrote based on my grandmother's real experience. The full text is about 40,000 words. The novel tells the story of my grandmother's legendary life from her birth in 1919 to her death at the age of 93. She practiced martial arts at the age of four, was good with two guns, eloped for love, experienced kidnapping, her father was killed, her husband committed suicide, begged, and worked as a nanny... I write about the regrets of my family and country in troubled times and the world, and about the suffering and dignity of the women in my family under the torrent of history.
