The Abyss of the End

Zhong Yan lives in an ordinary world. Every time he fell asleep, his soul would fly at the speed of light, like being stuffed into a train with no end—no pictures, no sounds, just faster and faster movement, and the fear of not knowing whether he could come back. That afternoon, he woke up in a cold sweat in class, and the teacher asked him to go home and rest. When he opened the door, he found that the old man who adopted him was already dead in bed due to a heart infarction. Zhong Yan cried all night. The next morning, the feeling of speed came again. This time, he didn't struggle. The soul passed through the end and came to another world—— Three thousand years ago, meteorites from outer space brought star nuclear energy. Humanity built twelve fortress cities, animals and plants evolved into monsters in the wasteland, and robots merged with star cores using computing power to become the third largest force. The fragile peace of the three pillars was shattered when the second meteorite fell: the corrosive energy emitted by the nine small meteorites infected all living creatures into irrational monsters - corroded corpses. Zhong Yan stood in the windy sand in the wilderness and saw for the first time the universe that collapsed and was reborn.
