Craftsmanship: the Story of Eight Craftsmen

"Artisan" is a fantasy novel about Oriental craftsmen that pioneered the "cursive weapon flow" track. It has a total of 90 chapters and about 460,000 words. The protagonist Gong Shushu is the son of the lowest craftsman in the loom workshop. In order to break the curse of "missing one door" - making living creatures must pay an irreversible price - he was forced to embark on the path of advancement to the Eight Gate Dunjia. Every time you open a door, you will lose one sense forever: taste, touch, smell, hearing, vision, until joy, sorrow, love and hate, and eventually even the obsession of "I" will be dispersed into the world of tools. The core setting of the book, "curses and weapons come from the same origin", subverts the traditional cultivation of immortality: power does not come from cultivation, but from borrowing from artifacts and using one's body as a pledge. Jishuxin replaces the golden elixir, casts a spell to adjust the gear ratio, and fights to dismantle the opponent's structure. Nuwa is a craftsman who weaves people on looms, and Hou Yi is a dismantler who dismantles star furnaces - all myths are completely "technically" reinterpreted. The narrative uses four layers of time tricks: drawing number ≠ time sequence, Chapter 44's perspective breaks from "other" to "us", Chapter 77 reveals that the "perfect" beginning is a forged memory, and the final chapter closes the loop - the whole book is actually a self-narration of the ultimate creation "book". Each chapter comes with craftsman's drawings, 88 faces that can be assembled into Gong Shushu's face. The emotional curve shows reverse growth: from false perfection to real nothingness, but when it completely dissipates, it is discovered that "loss" itself is "becoming everything". This is not an upgraded novel, but an intellectual tragedy about "existence" itself - cold and precise like an experimental report, dark and strange like the Cthulhu Mythos.
