"The Soul of Yunnan: A Love Letter to Yunnan across Time and Space" is a large-scale collection of cultural poetry about the sixteen prefectures and cities in Yunnan that Kunming author Deng Zhifeng spent eight years creating. The work takes the form of the ancient "Sao" style and extracts a word for each land as the soul key (such as "Wa" in Kunming, "Cuan" in Qujing, and "Wind" in Dali), and is accompanied by profound modern prose interpretation. With a "polyphonic" structure, the book systematically conducts a "spiritual archeology" of Yunnan by integrating natural geography, historical layers, national customs, essence of products and new voices of the times. It is not only a tribute to the mountains and rivers, but also a civilization epic that goes deep into the texture and explores the "soul of Dian" - the spirit of the land that coexists with diversity, upholds integrity and pioneers new things, and is tenacious and progressive. His extended work "Walking Clouds" (under creation) uses a large prose form to further describe the scenery, humanities and food of Yunnan in detail, and jointly and affectionately interprets "there is a life called Yunnan" to the world.
