Master, This Won't Do!

My name is Li Ziyou. I'm just a mediocre Taoist, but my life has been the opposite of what my name suggests. My family was poor when I was little. My mother ran off with someone else when I was three, and my father left to find work when I was five. My grandparents raised me. My grandfather said I was born under an unlucky star, so he taught me some skills to earn a living someday. Fortunately, I had a bit of talent for it and managed to learn most of what he taught me. When I was eight, I had a bizarre dream. In it was a woman who seemed both familiar and unfamiliar. She said she was my wife, but how could I have a wife? I was only eight! At first, I thought it was just a dream. After all, would you believe something you saw in a dream? But she appeared again when I was eighteen. “Little Taoist, long time no see!”
