Where There Are Sparks

In the mid-to-late 1990s, an important industrial town in Northeast China. Chen Huansheng, a fitter in a large state-owned factory who once thought he would have an "iron job" for the rest of his life, was laid off in his middle age. His wife Shen Qiuping was once a "factory beauty" in the factory, but now she can only do odd jobs. The relationship between husband and wife is in jeopardy under economic pressure. Faced with the dilemma of having an old man, a young man, and an uncertain future, Chen Huansheng decided to take an adventure with fate. He decided to go south to find a way out.
