Agarwood in the Web

[Two formidable leads / maritime court intrigue / amnesia and hidden identities / parallel career and romance plots / one-on-one romance with a happy ending]

In the Great Yin Dynasty, sea routes flourish while land routes decline.

Spices aren't just for refined tastes. They're wealth, military supplies, the lifeblood of the imperial court, and a weapon for killing.

There's a rule in the South China Sea's black market: don't retrieve the dead, and don't save the living.

Jiang Wuyin breaks both rules.

She hauls a man out of the depths of the black waters. He's lost his memory and his voice, and can't even remember his own name.

She takes him from the South China Sea's black market to a bustling maritime trade hub, then into the International Spice Bureau. Along the way, she identifies fake spices by scent, breaks monopolies with affordable substitutes, and carves out half the trade routes with her own hands and her own life

But the origin of the trace of imperial tribute incense on him, the truth behind her father's plunge into the sea, and the cure for her younger brother's unending sleep all point to an ancient formula the imperial court has banned as a drug:

Soul-Returning Incense.
