In a future where consciousness can be transplanted, the talented painter Yuan Qing loses everything in an accident. In order to "survive", he underwent full-body mechanization and became a pioneer in human evolution - a perfect mechanical body containing his only remaining human brain. The data proves that he is stronger than ever: he is not tired, does not suffer from illness, his senses are sharp, and his hands are strong enough to create any precise work of art. But when he stood in front of the canvas, he found that he could no longer paint the face in his memory. Those memories composed of 0s and 1s are clear and unmistakable, except that they are missing the burning sensation of tears running across the skin, the warmth of the lover's fingertips, and the thing called "feeling". During the seventh robot hand upgrade operation, "abnormal data" unexpectedly emerged in Yuan Qing's system - they were long-deleted tactile memory fragments, the pain of breathing, the trembling hands, and the clumsiness and reality that only flesh and blood can have. At the same time, art therapist Su Wanqing brought white tulips and asked dangerously: "When a crack appears in the perfect container, what grows out of the crack?" This is an existential fable set in the near future. The story follows the search of an "inhuman person" and asks in the gaps of data: When the body becomes a sophisticated instrument, memory becomes a retrievable document, and emotions become adjustable parameters - are those unquantifiable throbbings, imperfect tremors, and useless desires the only evidence of our existence? In the gap between the mechanical heart and human memory, a blank space as thick as a hair has become the last refuge of the entire civilization.
