In 2085, human emotions and memories can be quantified and uploaded to the cloud as "particle flows". Introverted programmer Lin Mo is obsessed with buying the perfect "digital friend" experience, until a quantum storm destroys the server and all virtual companionship evaporates in an instant. In the panic of power outage, he dug out an old hard drive, which contained an unmodified real video - the pixels were rough and the lens was shaken, recording the quarrel and reconciliation between him and his middle school friend Achuan. Lin Mo suddenly realized: true friendship cannot be optimized by algorithms. He walked out of the apartment and embarked on a journey to find Achuan, who had long been estranged in reality, determined to regain the friction-filled but unique emotional temperature.
