AD 2061. Human society in this era has completed a high degree of urban agglomeration. On the surface, human society appears to be extremely stable, efficient, and civilized. The crime rate has dropped, the accident rate has decreased, and the cost of living has been compressed to the optimal value by the system. Many ordinary people no longer realize that they actually live in a huge, sophisticated, and almost irreplaceable system. The stability of modern civilization does not entirely come from contemporary technology. Underneath it lies a project that does not belong to contemporary public history: the Timeline Fault Tolerance Project. This plan was established by a certain round of human civilization that was on the verge of destruction. Its purpose is not to allow people to travel back in time, but to establish a "causal fault-tolerant buffer zone" for the entire human civilization. The ultimate goal is to allow human civilization to find a way to overcome the inevitable ending of destruction and avoid the destruction of human civilization. It's essentially like a civilization-level backup and correction system. When civilization heads towards irreversible destruction at a certain key node, the system will record the information before the destruction, roll back reality, and try to extend a new time branch. The problem is that this rollback isn't perfect. Each revision leaves behind "uncleaned residue," which is the source of what is known as the "silent anomaly" in contemporary society.
