Under Concrete

This is a sample of the survival of a generation of civil servants. About how we walk into the wilderness with our ideals in mind, and how we rebuild our faith in the struggle with sand, steel bars, and human hearts. There is no omnipotent "golden finger" in the book, only endless ashes, endless calculations, and unfinished "favor debts." You will see: How does a project change from an "excellence-creating project" to a victim of "cost optimization"? How does a scholar transform from "King of Technology" to "Apprentice of Rules" and then to "Game Breaker"? How can a group of good people quietly do "not so good" things under the operation of the "system". At the end of the story, there are no heroes. Only an exhausted man found a corner where he could sit down peacefully in the urban forest he helped build. And he said to the latecomers: "If you can't change the flood, at least use more good cement on the section of the embankment you are responsible for."
